19TH NORMANDY VESSELS

This 19th-century stoneware jar from Normandy was used for storing liquids and dry goods. Made of durable stoneware, it has a rounded, conical shape with four handles for easy handling. Its striations indicate hand-thrown stone, and its rough, unglazed surface displays natural tones ranging from beige to ochre, reflecting wood-fired kiln firing. The partially glazed interior suggests its Norman origin.
