A traditional-style oil storage jar originating from Maddaloni in the province of Caserta. Its untreated exterior patina contrasts with the traditionally glazed interior, which peeks out from the rim. The purpose of the glaze was to seal the pores of the terracotta, preventing oil absorption and preserving its nutritional and organoleptic qualities.
