GINGER JARS

These hexagonal jars, decorated with embossed floral scenes and glazed in green, were used to store ginger, a prized root widely used in both Chinese cuisine and traditional medicine. They originate from Shiwan, Shiwanzhen district, in the city of Fosha, known as the ceramics capital of southern China.
