EIGHTEENTH-CENTURY OAK TABLE
EIGHTEENTH-CENTURY OAK TABLE
Material: Oak wood
Origin: France, circa 1780
Measurements: 180 cm long x 75 cm wide x 72 cm high
An exceptional workshop table from the last third of the 18th century with a retractable top, which serves to cover the interior cavity originally intended for storing food, mainly bread and flour. The carving of its legs reflects Neoclassical trends and is the only decorative element in its spartan design, which is so functional due to its carefully considered geometry and calculated proportions. The quality of the oak used in its construction is as extraordinary as its state of preservation.
