Granada-style glazed ceramic bowls
Granada-style glazed ceramic bowls
Material: Glazed ceramic
Origin: Granada, Spain, late 18th century
Availability: 4 units
Fajalauza ceramic gazpacho bowls with their characteristic white color, achieved through a glaze with little tin; hand-thrown and fired in a wood-fired kiln in the legendary Albaicín of Granada, whose pottery tradition, established by Moriscos, dates back to the 15th century. The absence of the distinctive painted decoration in blue or green is justified by their everyday use, intended for the working classes and therefore lacking any ornamentation.
