Granada-style glazed ceramic bowls

Granada-style glazed ceramic bowls

Material: Glazed ceramic
Origin: Granada, Spain, late 18th century
Availability: 1 unit

Fajalauza ceramic gazpacho bowls with their characteristic white color, which is achieved through a glaze with little tin; hand-turned and fired in a wood-fired oven in the mythical Albaicin of Granada, whose pottery tradition carried out by Moriscos dates back to the 15th century.

The absence of the distinctive blue or green painted decoration is justified by its everyday use, intended for the popular classes and therefore lacking any ornamentation.
